Last month we hosted our first-ever live training session, and it was a huge success! So much so, we’re planning more — and want you to attend — but first, we’ll tell you how this event came about…
Kalona, Iowa
Sam Stoll from Sunrise Post and Frame contacted our team and requested a live, in-person training on the functions of SmartBuild. We were happy to help, so we invited him to Denver to work with our team for half a day. Sam, however, had another idea in mind.
Instead of traveling to Colorado for a live training session, Sam wanted SmartBuild to come to him. So, he collaborated with a competing supplier and rounded up a couple of dozen other people interested in learning more about the software. Sam’s plan worked. Once five suppliers committed to traveling for the live training session, SmartBuild headed to Kalona, Iowa, and met with:
- Sunrise Post and Frame
- AW Metals
- Delta Metals
- Cantril Lumber
- Yoder Lumber
Many of the suppliers invited their contractor customers, so the audience was even bigger than planned and consisted of current SmartBuild users and those interested in learning about the only complete design system for post-frame buildings and metal roofing.
A Successful Session
The training event was very much a working session. Everyone brought their laptops and ran SmartBuild under the supervision of team members Brendon, Sean, and Keith.
After the event, the attendees agreed that the session was beneficial and said they welcome similar events in the future. Moreover, the consensus is that a two-day event is preferable — one full day for suppliers and companies on the administrative functions of their proprietary databases – and a second day devoted to designing post frame structures and generating useful output.
